You don't like Star Wars?! :-O haha Just curious, but what makes you like the shoes if you don't like Star Wars? I mean, I know the design and quality of the shoes is awesome and give great nods to Vans history (as I know you appreciate!), but the overt references to something you don't like seems like it'd be a turn off. These are amazing to me being a Vans AND Star Wars nerd. If I was just a Star Wars nerd, I wouldn't get the Vans references. I really like that they used blended references from the battle of Hoth in the Miami print!

The quality of these is great! Love the leather patch on the insole! And I love that these have the pigskin lining! Something about that lining just always feels extra comfortable to me. The use of the GR lining was my only gripe with the Wtaps last year.

I never saw the movies and just never got why there was such a following...just wasn't my thing. If I were to pick any of them up it would have been the half cabs out of the pack overall quality and finished layout were very nice just don't see myself ever wearing them simply because of the star wars connection so I didn't want to waste the money. Figured I'd let someone who is actually into it and gonna wear them get that extra sz10.

Well, if you've never worn Vans, you might not get why there's such a following either! But mostly I was curious as to why Erwin purchased some if he didn't like the movies. I can definitely understand appreciating the quality of the release! Just couldn't see myself wearing something if it represented something I wasn't into. For example, I can appreciate the MLB Vans Vault release, but I'd never get a pair cuz I'm not a huge baseball fan, or a fan of any of the teams. haha I know Erwin isn't a hypebeast either, so just my curiosity!

Probably cause Erwin is a true Vans collector, which is what I am too, and owning a piece of history in the making, as well as it being so...fucking...limited, is what makes it all that much more coveted! I want to have at least something from this release just for collecting purposes. It's funny because we sometimes take this first-hand core knowledge that the outside world doesn't have for granted. This release was a piece of cake for us, agree? We know where to go and we keep our fingers on the pulse. All the way up to the last shop to release theirs, colette, which changed everything for me. I wasn't planning on buying a second pair in this release. I got my Yoda's, and I was happy with that, but then colette has to come along and screw all that up for me! They dropped smaller sizes, which allowed me to buy a sz6 for my girl, which I wasn't expecting or prepared for, and it just so happened to get delivered yesterday on her birthday, so I couldn't have been more lucky. Nobody else dropped sizes below a 7, and who knows if they even ordered them for in-store. We like to have matching pairs of shoes, and with the already rare and limited Vans Vaults and Syndicates, you know size 6's don't ever come around. That's my way of keeping the collecting fun and challenging.

Is that their international price? Crazy! It'd probably be cheaper to get someone to get them for you and ship 'em that way! I'd be glad to help if you need it.

And yeah, Erwin as well as most here are true Vans collectors, so I understand that! I wasn't trying to sound like a jerk or anything, it was just pure curiosity. But, as a collector, I know when something is high quality and limited, that makes it more desirable to have in the collection. Plus, Erwin has his own Vans museum where he can show 'em off! haha (how much are tickets?!) I just like being a fan of all facets of what I wear I guess, as Chris mentioned earlier. It's like wearing a band tshirt and not knowing or liking the band (or even more on topic, band Vans, haha). But yeah, with this series, I love that I come from both camps of representation cuz it's awesome to see the blended references!

I'm not gonna defend myself but Bill said it already. And Rocket i'm a huge fan of the sk8 hi and don't own a pair with different colored panels and they are based on a original sk8 hi from the early 80's that's why i like the sk8 hi. And about the cabbies like the color en the quality en when i wear them nobody go to see that yoda is on them.

Yes, I get it. I hope you don't even feel the need to defend yourself! Again, it was all just curiosity, I wasn't trying to call anybody out on not being this or not being that. No shots ever fired, just a friendly question, which on the internet I guess is easy to expect it being a hostile question. I just like to see things from all angles, and I totally get this one from the Vans angle! Re-using the old patterns and knowing that they're being re-used is what brings out the Vans nerds for this one! Originally it was just my Star Wars nerd half being like "what? why would you wanna rock Yoda if you don't like the guy?!" But my inner Vans nerd is totally geeked out over those patterns as well. And the rest of my rambling was just me explaining my reasons for my curiosity.

But hey, let's also not get into saying who's true and who's not true or someone's feelings will get hurt! haha The way I see it, if you're on this forum, you're true. Everybody just has different priorities for their collections.
