Anyone? I read the Graphic novels and was so anticipating this show, first season is finally on DVD , and i usually prefer to watch it that way , no interruptions , don't have to wait a week or more for the next episode. Anyways sat down and watched 3 episodes yesterday and wow , the zombie fx are great , and the adaptation to the screen is better than i thought it would be .
So if you are in to Zombie , world in Chaos , few survivors banding together and just fuck the undead up . Check it, its on DVD and also i am sure they shoe it a lot on AMC. Its 6 1 hour episodes and they are crazy .
Also can DL the whole First season IN HD from Piratebay . Anyways hope i am not the only whom has watched or is watching this . Please give some feedback here if you have seen it.

Never seen it, but looks cool. I'm not into sci-fi/fiction stuff as much, but I always appreciate a good show, no matter what genre it is.

I'm a fan of old school zombie movies, but I gave TWD a try. At first I was like 'wow, seems pretty good', but then it turned into a drama with zombies occasionally showing up.
Zombie movies should be either scary or show how much fun characters have when killing zombies. Not about worrying 'Holy shit, the world just got fucked up, what are we going to do?!'. That's why I don't like '28 days/weeks later' - the most depressing zombie move I've ever seen!
Skor, have you seen 'Dead Set'?

Yes sir dead set is great , and i agree that it does turn into a little bit of a drama/Zombie show, but it is a television series so they kind of want that so viewers can feel connected i guess. That way not only zombie fans will watch put people who like that ooh god why is he messing around with so and so's wife kinda stuff can also get into it . I thought the outcome in general was pretty good.

O shit skorone, you just tapped my inner nerd.

Love comic books/graffic novels and love the zombie genera.

I've read the book and I really like what they've done with the show. The book has just as much humanity in the writing as the show does, so I don't feel like they made it overly sappy. Zombies feed, so it's not like they can run a show about zombies and just have them eating people the entire time. Good show.

Other things zombie I enjoyed this year -

Dead Snow - pretty great Norweigen zombie movie. just a good old slasher.
World War Z - i think everybodies heard about this one way or another, especially with the rumors that Brad Pit is going to play the main role in a movie.

*Side Note, if you haven't ever checked it out - Preacher. one of the raddest comic books ever.

PURE DOPENESS! Zombies + nazis = my brain blown up. All those follow ups to old skool horrors are just brilliant! Thanks to 'Dead Snow' I still have faith in modern horror movies.

TWD is probably the coolest thing to happen to TV in a few seasons. Can't wait to see where they take it next season. Too bad we have to wait til October.

They tried to do a Preacher mini series on HBO or Showtime about 3-4 years ago, which I thoght would have been a great idea. Unfortunatly when it comes to films it seems like you can't get the money to make the movie the way it should be (meaning completely ruthless, like the comic) and still have it turn out alright. If they would have done a show, they could have packed it all in. For certian comics, the movie they make will never live up to my standards, only because everything is so much more personal and you have favorite parts for good reason - then the movie comes out and all that shit is gone. Like The Watchmen...good movie, if I hand't read the book and had so many favorite things that they left out. Like the Pirate comic the kid on the street is reading the entire lenght of the novel. O well - there was my nerd bitch fest.
