hey guys, I found my way here via wtaps like many others I'm sure.

been looking for the navy slip ons/eras for so long I ended up buying a beat pair as it was the only option since I missed out on a NDS pair cause the seller wanted more money than I was willing to pay.

anyway this pair, he said it was wearable but a bit beat, turns out he had no box no original laces (got some white laces that say "suicidal" on them) not only that but there is two different insoles (one rubber one cotton? different heights...) they're both black on top too not navy...

Jason markk'd these today but the canvas is still dirty looking, might have to try a stronger normal detergent tomorrow.

no idea where I'm gonna find the laces or a pair of insoles that match though unless I get a different brand?

if anyone has any idea of a suede dye that matches this colour too lmk!

Unfortunately, after washing the canvas a few times, and exposing them to oxygen (inevitable) and sunlight (once you wear them), they will eventually fade. I've heard that using baby oil on suede can darken it up, and I assume it will work on canvas too. A few people are doing that on the Bait x Asics releases that have recently dropped, as people were complaining about the fadedness or washed out color that they have right out of the box. Looks like you lucked out a bit with the suicidal laces, though! Kind of a nice bonus! Looking for matching blue laces, though?

thanks for that info and link DJGuamstyles, I had heard about that but thought it was only ok on black suede, I'll try that out if I can find some cheap baby oil around though.
yeah it's a shame about the fading, I guess these won't ever look much better than now, I'd be happy if I got some replacement insoles and can wear them as beaters.

yeah rocketgoof the laces aint bad but I might pick up some royal blue replacements on the cheap once I've got some insoles!

Not here at least, they only sell black and white laces in my local vans store.
I'll probably just get another brand insole since it's the cheapest option, they're too beat to really care that much!

As long as I've been working at Vans, I've never seen a navy lace sold by itself. I know they have a royal blue lace that might work.

still baffles me they're called 'navy' on the wtaps box lol its definitely more what I'd call a royal blue?
just me? navy is a dark, closer to black, looking blue?

Yeah they're definitely more along the lines of a Royal Blue than a Navy.
