I think it is just fabric....I know the one photo you are referencing where it did almost look like metal, but it was just the shades of the tag giving off a desert heat oasis vibe.... at least all the samples ive seen were fabric.

joni those are custom they where exposed at the Vans Downtown Showdown 8-3/4/5 2012 in Amsterdam. Event was dominated by 20 years half cab! Steve van Doren/Caballero/Alva/Cardiel were all there. And the worst is i had no time to go there
