Vans sizes always vary. Doesn't matter if its Syndicate, Vault, CA, Core etc.. For instance; those latest W)Taps eras run slightly on the larger side, while past Syndicate releases such as the Max Schaaf eras run slightly on the smaller side. A lot of the time it has to do with the materials, suede/canvas.. usually more room to stretch, were as leathers usually run tight, especially around the toe-box. I also were a size 12 and I found that these ran a little bit more snug on the top of your foot right before the toe box. Not enough for me to recommend sizing down though. I would stay true to a size 12.
