custom floral nubuck authentic

Post by 6.speed.ek »

first of all this project is not yet done, but i will post pictures and keep it updated.
what im doing is taking my brothers tribal drawing authentics and changing it up a bit. the toe box will be nubuck leather, side panels floral, tongue will also be floral & the back panel nubuck leather.

all i did was unstitched apart the shoes. i'll post more pictures once i get parts done.

From the looks of it, i dont think he started to fully decon the shoe and take apart the upper from the midsole...that to me is the hard part.

You can actually separate the upper from the midsole on Vans? I've always seen people just layer material on top of the original one, and tuck it down into the midsole.

Yes, you can do that, just heat it up with a hairdryer.

You're talking about taking the sole completely off of the shoe, right? Like, two separate pieces laying side by side after? I know that the foxing can be heated up and pulled away from the material, to tuck down...but I've never seen anyone take the shoe completely apart into a top and a bottom portion.

I still wanna see the pics of the shoe completely in two pieces, because if there's a way to do sole swaps, then hot damn! We can renew our soles, on our favorite worn pairs!

Always dreamed of this!!

The sole wearing out is the only unattractive wear Vans get, to me. I like to skate mine and make em gnarly.
Looking to buy:
.Blends Sk8 Hi in black, 8-9.5 would be accepted. If anyone here has a pair I will trade serious heat for them.
.007 Grime Slip On's (Claw, not the Skull version)
Will pay healthy prices for these. Shoot me a PM.
